A pickup truck was westbound on I-70 in Wyandotte County when it crashed about 6:09 p.m. Sept. 19, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report.
The 1995 Chevrolet truck was going too fast for existing conditions, lost control and went into a sideways skid, striking the barrier wall, according to the trooper’s report. The accident happened on I-70, east of the K-7 and U.S. 73 exit.
A storm with lightning and rain had moved into Wyandotte County shortly before 6 p.m. Sept. 19.
The driver, a 38-year-old man from Overland Park, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
