The Kansas City, Kan., Corps of the Salvation Army will hold its Annual Luncheon and Volunteer Recognition on Oct. 30. It will be held at the Salvation Army’s Harbor Light Campus at 6711 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The luncheon will begin at noon.
This event will recognize those individuals and organizations that have volunteered for the Kansas City, Kan., Salvation Army Corps in an exceptional fashion during the past year. This will include volunteer service to the operation of the organization and bellringing on behalf of the Kansas City, Kan., Salvation Army Corps.
The keynote speaker for the event will be the Rev. Mic McGuire, pastor at the Living Waters United Methodist Church, Kansas City, Kan.
This event will serve as the Kettle Kick-Off for the Christmas season. The bell ringing season provides funds needed to support a variety of the community services offered by the Salvation Army in this community, according to a spokesman. These services include emergency assistance, food pantry services, disaster relief and substance abuse recovery at all levels.
