Persons of all Christian traditions are invited to participate in Taizé prayer at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, in Annunciation Chapel on the campus of the Mother House of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, 4200 S. 4th St., Leavenworth, Kan. Taizé prayer is a meditative, candlelit service that includes simple chants sung repeatedly, silence, and prayers of praise and intercession. Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., will sponsor its StoreHouse ministry including a food pantry, dinner and clothes distribution at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8. The church gave out more than 80 Christmas gifts at the December StoreHouse sessions. The church now serves about 125 to 150 people at the StoreHouse dinner and is accepting food donations from individuals and businesses.
St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., will hold Masses for the holy day of the Solemnity of Mary at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 31, 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Jan. 1, and 2 p.m. Jan. 1 in Spanish.
White Church Christian Church, one block north of Parallel Parkway at 2200 N. 85th St., will feature music by the Prairie Praise Band on Dec. 29. The new Bible Study group meets at 6 p.m. every Wednesday and is becoming very popular. A small meal is served to all.
