St. Mary-St. Anthony Church Altar Society will hold its annual Oktoberfest, from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in Bishop Forst Hall, 615 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan. The dinner menu is roasted pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, dessert and coffee. Dinner tickets need to be purchased in advance. Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th, plans a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 27.
A “Trunk or Treat” is planned on Sunday, Oct. 27, at Trinity Community Church, 5010 Parallel Parkway. The activity is sponsored by the Christian Education Committee for children 2 years old through 5th grade. Wear your costume to church. Bring your treat bag. After worship, all children may gather in the church’s Rainbow Room to parade out to the parking lot as a group. Adults who wish to hand out treats should park on the west end of the parking lot. They may decorate trunks and bring treats.
White Church Christian Church, one block north of Parallel Parkway at 2200 N. 85th St., continues this year's celebration of being the oldest Christian church in this area with a dinner and entertainment on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Witness Band will start around 4 p.m. and dinner will commence at 6 p.m. The new Bible Study group meets at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. A small meal is served to all who come. The CWF held a successful bazaar-bake sale that raised a little over $900 on the Oct. 5. Sunday services begin at 10 a.m.
The United Methodist Women at Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., will hold a taco salad dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Wyandotte church. There will be a free will donation.
