Volunteers from Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, will paint and prepare the school on July 31 and Aug. 7. The church is planning a potluck lunch after the 10:30 a.m. service July 14.

Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., is planning a rummage sale July 17-20 in the Cole Activity Center. The sale begins at 9 a.m. July 17 and ends at noon July 20. A biscuit and gravy breakfast is planned from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, July 21, in the Fellowship hall. Proceeds will go toward the youth camping trip.

The Men’s Brotherhood at Zion United Church of Christ, 2711 N. 72nd St., will hold the annual Watermelon Social from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 28, in the church Fellowship Hall. The menu includes cantaloupe, watermelon, hot dogs chili dogs and soft drinks. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
