Holy Family Altar Society’s Annual Golf Tournament will be Monday, June 24, at Sunflower Hills Golf Course, 12200 Riverview Road, Bonner Springs, Kan. The event begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee per person is $65, which includes a green fee; $50 hole sponsor. Food will be served after the tournament. All proceeds will benefit the Holy Family Church fuel fund. The 19th annual golf classic to benefit the Sisters, Servants of Mary, is set for Friday, June 28, at Dub’s Dread Golf Course, 126th and Hollingsworth Road, Kansas City, Kan. St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church, 615 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan., will hold its annual Ethnic Festival on Saturday, June 22. The festival on the parish grounds will begin immediately following the 4 p.m. Mass and continue until 9 p.m. The food venue will have German, Irish, Mexican and American items. A fundraiser with prizes is planned, along with games.
“Highest Praise,” a music and drama ministry, will be in concert at 7 p.m. June 28 at Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kan. The music and drama presentation is free to the public.
Trinity AME Church, 2201 N. 5th St., will hold Sumner Sunday at the 10:15 a.m. worship service June 23. Persons who attended Sumner High School are invited to attend the service. Special recognition will go to the class with the highest number of members present. Past winners include the Class of 1968, recognized in 2011; the Class of 1966, recognized in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2012; the Class of 1967, recognized in 2007 and 2009; and the Class of 1958, recognized in 2008. White Church Christian Church, 1 block north of Parallel Parkway at 2200 N. 85th St., will hold a potluck featuring steak and shrimp, along with home cooking. Several programs are being offered at Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave. Free salsa lessons are held from 3 to 4 p.m. each Saturday in June at Wyandotte United Methodist Church, and new participants are welcome. An all-church breakfast is on the calendar from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22. There will be a free-will donation. The church is collecting school supplies for Cross-Lines during June and through the middle of July.
