Café 55, a program for senior citizens, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. April 26 at Fellowship Christian Church, 8844 State Ave. The program includes a guest speaker from the Department of Aging who will give information about senior housing and Social Security. After the program will be a time for entertainment or games.
Grandview Christian Church, 8550 Parallel Parkway, is collecting canned goods for Help 3:17, a local food pantry. The church will have coffee and doughnuts from 10 a.m. until the worship service time of 10:45 a.m. each Sunday morning at Kussman Hall.
“Vatican II – the Times, the Man, and the Lasting Legacy,” is a free four-part series to be presented by Jennifer Greene, pastoral minister, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, April 10 – May 1, at Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The program will look at the state of the church at the time of John XXIII’s election, John XXIII himself, Council highlights and two major documents — “Church in the Modern World” and “People of God.” Call 913-906-8990 to register.
Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, plans a Spring Fest Banquet held by the Ladies Bible Study from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in the church dining room. Advance reservations are required. Open Door Church will sponsor a church-wide game night with a free meal of hot dogs and chips from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the church.
A car, truck and cycle show will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at Our Lady of Unity Church and School, 2646 S 34th, Kansas City, Kan. There are entry fees for the vehicles. Admission is free; refreshments will be available for purchase.
A 3-mile Hope to Shalom Walk will be a prayer walk for an end to violence. The walk will from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21, starting at Sanctuary of Hope, 2601 Ridge, along 18th Street, and ending at Shalom House Men’s Shelter at 13th and Parallel. There will be stops along the way for prayer.
St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., (94th and State Avenue), is planning First Communion Sunday on April 21. The Mass schedule is 5 p.m. Saturday, April 20, and on Sunday, April 21, 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. (Spanish).
Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th, will hold a movie night at 7 p.m. April 19 in the Cole Activities Center at the church. “The Grace Card” will be shown. There will be free popcorn. Those attending should bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.
Members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., including the Rev. Dixie Roberts Junk, the priest-in-charge, will attend a women's summit Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20, at St. James Episcopal Church, Wichita. The theme of the meeting will be "Women and girls: made in the image of God."

The Men's Brotherhood of Zion United Church of Christ at 2711 N. 72nd St. in Kansas City, Kan., will hold its annual Pancake Breakfast in the church fellowship hall from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under age 12 and can be purchased at the door.
