Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., will hold a Divine Mercy Sunday at 3 p.m. April 7. The church is the site for a Marriage for Keeps program offering education, support and resources for couples from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting April 4 and running 10 weeks. Grandview Christian Church, 8550 Parallel Parkway, is collecting canned goods for Help 3:17, a local food pantry. The church will have coffee and doughnuts from 10 a.m. until the worship service time of 10:45 a.m. each Sunday morning at Kussman Hall. A new 10-week series called “Shift” begins April 7. It includes time studying the Bible and answering questions about the church.
A taco dinner will be held from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. April 6 at Holy Family Altar Society, 513 Ohio Ave. The dinner will be followed by bingo at 7:30 p.m. A $15 donation will include food, a bingo card, beverages and dessert.
“Vatican II – the Times, the Man, and the Lasting Legacy,” is a free four-part series to be presented by Jennifer Greene, pastoral minister, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, April 3 - 24, at Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The program will look at the state of the church at the time of John XXIII’s election, John XXIII himself, Council highlights and two major documents — “Church in the Modern World” and “People of God.” Call 913-906-8990 to register.
