Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., plans Holy Week services including Holy Thursday Mass at 7 p.m. March 28; Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 29; Easter Vigil, 5:30 p.m. March 30; Easter Mass, 9:30 a.m. March 31.
Grandview Christian Church, 8550 Parallel Parkway, is collecting canned goods for Help 3:17, a local food pantry. The church plans Good Friday worship at 6:30 p.m. March 29, and Easter breakfast at 9:15 a.m. March 31. Sunday morning worship is at 10:45 a.m.
Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church, 7819 Swartz Road, Kansas City, Kan., will have a ham and bean - vegetable soup dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23. The menu includes ham and beans, vegetable soup, dessert and drink. Donation of $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger is requested.
Judson Baptist Church, 8300 State Ave., plans a children’s Easter party from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 30. Children from age 2 to fifth grade may attend. The church will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. March 28, and Easter services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. March 31.
St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th, is holding a fish dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. each Friday of Lent in the Parish Center. The cost of the dinner is $8 to $10 per person; carryout is available. A family price is available. Baked cod, fried catfish, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, and mac and cheese are available. Side dishes, dessert and drink are included. St. Patrick Church plans a Penance Service at 7 p.m. March 25. The Holy Week schedule includes 6:30 p.m. English language and 8 p.m. Spanish language on Holy Thursday, March 28; 3 p.m. Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, 6:30 p.m. in English and 8 p.m. in Spanish March 29; blessing of food at 2 p.m. and Easter Vigil Mass at 8 p.m. Holy Saturday, March 30; and Easter Masses at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in English and 2 p.m. in Spanish on March 31.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., will observe the Stations of the Cross at 6 p.m. Friday, March 22. A soup supper will follow in the parish hall. A children's program and Easter egg hunt is planned at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30. Palm Sunday services will be held at 10 a.m. March 24.
Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th, is planning its annual Easter Egg hunt for toddlers through fifth-graders at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at the church park. Those attending should bring their own baskets. The event will be moved indoors in case of inclement weather. Easter services are planned at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. March 31, with Sunday School at 9:50 a.m.
White Church Christian Church, 2200 N. 85th, (one block north of Parallel Parkway), will observe Holy Week (March 27 through 31) starting with Maundy Thursday services at 6:30 p.m., Good Friday services at 6:30 p.m., and a 24-hour prayer vigil starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m., ending at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be an Easter egg hunt Saturday, March 30, for children. Sunday's sunrise service is at 8 a.m. and a continental breakfast will be served afterwards.
Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., will hold a Women’s Bible Study at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Free salsa lessons are offered from 3 to 4 p.m. each Saturday in March at Wyandotte UMC. An all-church breakfast is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23. The church will hold an Easter egg hunt at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24. The church will hold a Maundy Thursday Communion service at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28. Wyandotte UMC will hold Easter services including a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m., traditional service at 8 a.m., contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. and blended service at 10:45 a.m. March 31.
Zion United Church of Christ, 2711 N. 72nd St., will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 6 p.m. March 28; Good Friday service at 6 p.m. March 29; Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. March 30; and Easter services at 10:30 a.m. March 31.
