The East Hill Singers men’s chorus will perform its fall concert, “Brothers, Sing On” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, Kansas City, Kan.
The concert begins at 4 p.m. with an art exhibit and sale opening at 3 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public; a free-will offering will be collected.
The East Hill Singers is made up of inmates from the minimum security unit of Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, Kan., as well as volunteer singers from the community.
The chorus is led by music director, Kirk Carson, and sponsored by the nonprofit organization, Arts in Prison. The chorus is one of the only prison ensembles in the nation to sing outside prison walls, and is the subject of a new documentary, “Conducting Hope,” to be shown in November on PBS.
