    Fun was in store for those who attended this year’s parish festival Aug. 21 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4th and Barnett.
    An estimated 300 participated in this gala event on Strawberry Hill.
    People lined up for miles just so they could eat some of the best Croatian food, which St John’s is noted for. They had games for children with fun for all.
    What would a celebration like this be without the traditional tamburitza music provided by the Hrvatski Obicaj band? This group is noted as one of the best Croatian bands.
    Every year this event attracts more and more people to one of the oldest parishes in Kansas City, Kansas.
