Festival organizers said in a news release today that the Kanrocksas Music Festival will not return until 2013 at Kansas Speedway.

   A major construction project during the summer of 2012 was cited as the reason for the decision.

   The first event was held Aug. 4-5 at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. Eminem and Muse plus many other bands appeared at the first concert.

   Festival organizers said they would work with the local and national music communities to plan the second Kanrocksas festival for the summer of 2013.

   They plan to continue to seek big-name acts, more amenities and technological features for the concert. The first concert had free parking and camping.
