Providence Medical Center and Saint John Hospital have named Dave Dulny as the new chief financial officer for the hospitals, as well as Providence Place, a skilled nursing facility located on the Providence campus in Kansas City, Kan.
In his new role, Dulny is responsible for overseeing the financial operations for these facilities. His other areas of responsibility include supply chain, health information management, information systems and services, environmental services, biomedical services, central transportation, plant operations and security.
“Prime has given Providence and Saint John a second chance to serve this community,” Dulny said in a news release. “I want to be actively involved in the turnaround of these hospitals and see them become profitable operations.”
Dulny joined Providence Medical Center as its director of finance in 1989 and has seen his role grow significantly over the years. Prior to coming on board with Providence, he was with the accounting firm Ernst and Young for more than 12 years.
Originally from Joliet, Ill., Dulny came to the area to attend college at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology; a bachelor’s degree in business; and a master’s degree in business administration, all from the University of Kansas. He is a certified public accountant. He served two years of active duty in the military, and two years in the reserves.
Dulny resides in Shawnee with his wife, Jennifer, and their two school-age children. He also has two adult children and two grandchildren. He is involved with his children’s sporting and school activities and recently retired from coaching their soccer teams.
Providence and Saint John hospitals are a part of Prime Healthcare Services.
