Most Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles in 2014 with OnStar will be equipped with wireless enhancements under a new agreement between OnStar and AT&T.
AT&T announced recently it made the agreement with OnStar, a subsidiary of General Motors Corp., for wireless enhancements in a suite of safety, security, diagnostic and information-entertainment services.
The multi-year agreement calls for AT&T to be able to provide millions of GM cars, trucks and crossovers with 4G LTE mobile Internet access, providing the latest wireless technology for GM's safety and security services offered by OnStar. There also will be a variety of information and entertainment services offered, such as streaming audio, web access, applications and even video for backseat passengers.
AT&T also will enable GM's in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspots and voice-calling services.
